Surely, at least once in your career, you have thought that your job is too stressful and that you should change it.

Every job in the world carries a certain level of stress, and each individual experiences and tolerates stress differently. However, when thinking about the most stressful job in the world, most people would probably first think of surgeons, pilots, soldiers, drivers, or teachers.

The Southern Medical University in China conducted a study over 17 years involving 136,000 people, and the result showed that the most stressful job in the world is that of a waiter/waitress. Although this information may seem unusual and surprising at first glance, the study provides compelling arguments.

Waiters/waitresses are constantly exposed to psychological and physical pressure during working hours, resulting in a high level of stress. Additionally, they are often not sufficiently respected or adequately compensated, and their working hours are usually not flexible.

Considering these arguments, it is clear to us why the job of a waiter/waitress is the most stressful in the world, even though it carries less responsibility than, for example, the job of a surgeon or pilot.
