ARCHITECTURAL DESIGNER IN THE TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT (m/f)
📍Location: Libya
Job Description:
- We are looking for senior architectural designers to join our team. Successful candidates will be responsible for designing within the team of architectural designers in the implementation of architectural solutions for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial projects of the company.
Responsibilities:
- Design under the leadership of the head of the architectural team and head of the internal unit, ensuring that the design complies with industry codes and regulations
- Preparation of accurate architectural drawings
- Collaborate with civil engineers, MEP engineers, and other members of the design team to develop efficient and cost-effective architectural projects
- Ensure that architectural projects comply with current building regulations and safety standards
- Review and integrate architectural drawings with other disciplines such as structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
- Ensure timely submission of architectural projects to meet project schedules and milestones set by the project manager
- Oversee the use of design software (e.g. Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD for drafting; Sketchup or 3Ds Max for modeling; Lumion, V-Ray, Corona, or Twinmotion software for rendering; knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign, etc.) to develop accurate architectural drawings and models
- Collaborate with the architectural design team to ensure the best possible solution to architectural and design issues
- Assist in resolving complex design challenges by offering practical and innovative solutions
- Attend project meetings to discuss progress, address issues within the architectural design unit, as well as within the design unit
- Collaborate with the review unit for faster and more efficient design development
- Knowledge of urban planning and master planning
- Knowledge of project standards and codes according to building type and program requirements
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Architecture
- Minimum 10 years of experience as an architectural designer for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial projects, and other construction projects
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of International Building Code (IBC), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Accessibility Design Standards, Fire and Life Safety Standards (NFPA101 or equivalent), LEED sustainability guidelines, and other architectural design codes
- Knowledge of MEP design codes such as: ASHRAE 90.1 for energy efficiency, National Electrical Code (NEC) or IEC standards, NFPA standards, and CIBSE guidelines for HVAC design
- Proficiency in the use of software used in architectural design, such as Revit Architecture, AutoCAD, Sketchup, 3Ds Max, etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of international and local architectural design codes
- Ability to create comprehensive and detailed working drawings for architectural plans and details for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial projects, and other construction projects
