MECHANICAL ENGINEER IN THE TECHNICAL DEPARTMENT (m/f)
📍Location: Libya
Job Description:
- We are looking for a senior mechanical engineer to join our team. Successful candidates will be responsible for designing within the MEP team in taking on mechanical projects for residential, commercial, hospitality, health, and industrial projects of the company
Responsibilities:
- Design under the guidance of the MEP team leader and internal unit leader and ensure that the design complies with industry codes and regulations
- Develop accurate mechanical drawings
- Follow schedule and adhere to deadlines set by the MEP team leader and internal unit leader
- Collaborate with civil engineers, MEP engineers, architects, and other members of the design team to develop efficient and cost-effective mechanical designs
- Ensure that mechanical projects comply with applicable building regulations and safety standards
- Review and integrate mechanical drawings with other disciplines such as structural, architectural, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
- Ensure timely submission of mechanical projects to meet project schedules and milestones set by the internal unit leader
- Supervise the use of design software (e.g. Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and AutoCAD for drawing, etc.) to develop accurate mechanical drawings and models
- Assist in solving complex design challenges by offering practical and innovative solutions
- Attend project meetings to discuss progress and resolve current issues
Qualifications:
- Graduated in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 10 years of experience as a mechanical engineer, designer for residential, commercial, hospitality, health, industrial projects, and other construction projects
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of international codes such as: ASHRAE 62.1 - Ventilation and Acceptable Indoor Air Quality; ASHRAE 90.1 - Energy Standard for Sites and Buildings except Low-rise Residential Buildings; IMC 603.2 - Duct Sizing; SMACNA 2005 - HVAC duct construction standard; Metal and flexible, etc.
- Proficient in using software used in mechanical design such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of international and local codes in mechanical design
- Able to produce comprehensive and detailed working drawings for mechanical plans and details for residential, commercial, hospitality, health, industrial projects, and other construction projects
