SENIOR ARCHITECT (m/f)
📍Location: Libya
Job Description:
- We are looking for senior urban designers to join our team. Successful candidates will be responsible for designing architectural solutions for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, and industrial projects of the company within the team of architectural designers
Responsibilities:
- Designing under the leadership of the head of the architectural team and the head of the internal unit, and ensuring that the design complies with industry codes and regulations
- Preparing accurate architectural drawings
- Adhering to schedules and deadlines set by the head of the architectural team and the head of the internal unit
- Collaborating with civil engineers, MEP engineers, and other members of the design team to develop efficient and cost-effective architectural projects
- Ensuring that architectural projects comply with current building regulations and safety standards
- Reviewing and integrating architectural drawings with other disciplines such as structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems
- Ensuring timely submission of architectural projects to meet project schedules and milestones set by the project manager
- Overseeing the use of design software (e.g. Autodesk Revit and AutoCAD for drafting; Sketchup or 3Ds Max for modeling; Lumion, V-Ray, Corona, or Twinmotion software for rendering; knowledge of Photoshop, Illustrator, or InDesign, etc.) to develop accurate architectural drawings and models
- Collaborating with the architectural design team to ensure the best possible solution on architectural and design issues
- Assisting in solving complex design challenges by offering practical and innovative solutions
- Attending project meetings to discuss progress, resolve issues within the architectural design unit, as well as within the design unit
- Collaborating with the review unit for faster and more efficient design development
- Knowledge of urban planning and master planning
Qualifications:
- Graduated or master's degree in architecture (master's degree in architecture preferred)
- Minimum of 5-10 years of experience as an urban designer for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial projects, and other civil projects
Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of International Building Code (IBC), Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Accessibility Design Standards, Fire and Life Safety Standards (NFPA 101 or equivalent), LEED sustainability guidelines, and other architectural design codes.
- Knowledge of MEP design codes such as: ASHRAE 90.1 for energy efficiency, National Electrical Code (NEC) or IEC standards, NFPA standards, and CIBSE guidelines for HVAC design
- Proficiency in using software used in architectural design such as Revit Architecture, AutoCAD, Sketchup, 3Ds Max, etc.
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of international and local architectural design codes
- Ability to create comprehensive and detailed working drawings for architectural plans and details for residential, commercial, hospitality, healthcare, industrial projects, and other construction projects
